As a former makeup artist, I know the power of makeup. As a new momma, I NEED the power of makeup! 😉
Even though Audrey is now sleeping through the night (she sleeps 12 hours straight, yall!), my eyes are more bloodshot and tired looking than ever before. I’m talkin’ vampy-bloodshot eyes. It’s frightening!
I, however, have a tried-and-true product that I absolutely think everyone should have in their makeup bag (or kit if you’re a makeup artist!). It’s The Wonder Pencil from NYX Cosmetics. This particular pencil (WP01- light) is a flesh tone that is creamy in consistency and highly pigmented. (They also offer two other shades in medium and dark,)
It’s advertised as a pencil that can be used as a “reverse lip liner”, concealer, or what I like to use it for, an eye brightener.

How to brighten your eyes with it? Before applying your mascara, run the pencil along your bottom water line. (I like to warm it up first by running it along the back of my hand. It makes it go on smoother.) You can also add it to the inner corners of your eyes as well as under the brow for a highlight.
What shade should you get? If you want to use this pencil as an eye brightener, I recommend getting the lightest shade. I used it on my clients that ranged in skin tone/color, and the lightest shade always worked as a brightener.
What about using it as a reverse lip liner and concealer? I wouldn’t go as far as saying it makes a great lip liner. I wouldn’t do much else with it other than highlighting the cupids bow (with a light hand the lightest shade could achieve this on any skin tone). As far as using it as a concealer…I’d pass. There are other products that conceal much better. With all of that being said, it is still 100% a must-have for the eyes!
