It is Audrey’s first Christmas, and I want to make sure I take lots of photos to look back on. I just can’t believe how fast time passes when you have a little babe, and I know this holiday season will be over in the blink of an eye!
I was a little nervous to take Audrey’s Christmas photos myself. I am SO far from a pro (I just used a little point and shoot camera). Not to mention, I had the idea of taking her newborn pictures myself, and that was an epic FAIL! haha
I was actually surprised by how easy and fun these pictures were to take. There are so many things you can use as props for Christmas photos, and there are endless background options that work.
I dressed her up in her little Burts Bees Christmas pajamas (we have matching ones… I will post those family photos soon), and we had a little photo shoot! 🙂
(My camera, her pajamas as well as a couple of the props I used will be linked down below if you are interested in purchasing! Just click on the photo of them, and it will take you straight to amazon!)
Give them lights! Audrey was mesmerized by the lights. I just had to be careful that she didn’t put them in her mouth, because she is teething on everything. She is sitting in a crate that I stuffed a faux fur rug in, and I used another one for the background.
Give them a Christmas bulb! – This one is plastic, and her little hands are just big enough to hold it! (Take the hardware off of them!) If your baby isn’t old enough to hold the bulb, keep scrolling down to see other ideas using them!
Dress them in hats or bows! This hat it from Carter’s (bought last year), and I made the huge bow myself.
Incorporate a stuffed animal! This one is a Christmas decoration that we keep by the tree. She loved it (as you can tell from the “kisses” aka teething)!
Use a Charlie Brown tree! I love how these pictures turned out! She was on a mission to pull that bulb off. You could get the same kind of picture by placing them under an actual Christmas tree as well. This kind of photo is perfect for the baby that isn’t old enough to hold a bulb yet!
Put the baby in a “present”. I simply wrapped a diaper box for this prop. Sadly, I only got one good photo of her in it, but you get the idea!
Keep it simple! If all else fails, just keep it simple! Sometimes those are the cutest photos of all!
